Biographical Information[edit]

Iouri Perepelitsa was on the Russian team in the 1997 World Junior Championship. [1] He was Russia's youngest player in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, about 3 months younger than Anton Shirokiy. He was 2 for 11 with a double, run and four RBI, while making one error in nine chances; he backed up Alexei Bakoutkine at 2B, Dimitri Lukin at SS and Andrei Selivanov at DH. His double was off Eduardo Bojorge of Nicaragua. Despite his backup role, he led Russia in RBI, double runners-up Lukin and Roman Goloubkhine. [2]

In the 1999 European Championship, he backed up Dmitri Goloubev at 3B and went 4 for 12 with a run and a RBI, handling five chances error-free. [3]
