The Inter-American Series was a a winter league post-season tournament that was played between the champions of Latin American winter leagues from 1961 to 1963.
History[edit]
The Inter-American Series was the successor to the Serie del Caribe (which was discontinued after the Cuban Winter League ended in 1960) and was overseen by the Confederación de Béisbol del Caribe, which had also run the Serie del Caribe.
The four-team tournament featured the league champions of the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico of Puerto Rico, the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional of Venezuela, the Panamanian League of Panama and a second team from the host country in 1961 and 1962. Starting with the 1963 Series the champion of the Nicaraguan League of Nicaragua became the fourth team. The Series was abandoned after 1963.
