Biographical Information[edit]

Ik-jae Kim pitched in the KBO for 9 years.

Kim was drafted by the OB Bears in the second round of the 1991 KBO draft, and he had a 6.27 ERA in 21 relief outings in his first season. His ERA was 2.54 in 12 games in 1992, and he improved to a 1.85 ERA in 23 games in 1993. Kim led the league with 51 appearances in 1994, but his ERA rose to 5.40. He then had a conflict with manager Dong-kyun Yoon, and he was released after the 1995 season. The Hyundai Unicorns signed him, and Kim recorded a 3.86 ERA in 36 games in 1996. He struggled in 1997 as his ERA was 6.10 in 38 games, then he pitched 10 games with a 5.79 ERA in 1998. Kim allowed 6 runs in 4 innings in 1999, then he announced his retirement.

Overall, Kim was 1-10 with five saves and a 4.60 ERA, struck out 156 and pitched 219 innings in 9 seasons in the KBO.
