Biographical Information

Hyun-hee Han has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korean national team.

Han had a 0.00 ERA and 63 K in 38 IP as his high school team's ace. The Nexen Heroes took him in the first round of the 2012 KBO draft. He hit 95 mph with his fastball as a rookie in 2012, going 3-4 with a 3.12 ERA. He went 5-0 with a save and a 3.21 ERA in 2013. He led the league with 27 holds, becoming the youngest hold leader in KBO history, and was 3rd with 69 games pitched.

He pitched 2 1/3 innings for South Korea in the 2014 Asian Games, allowing one hit and no walks or runs while fanning four for the Gold Medalists. He led the team with three appearances. Their Gold won him an exclusion from South Korea's otherwise-mandatory military service. He was 4-2 with two saves and a 3.20 ERA in the 2014 KBO, showing great consistency. He tied Won-sang Yoo for 6th in the KBO in games pitched and again led in holds (31). The Heroes lost the 2014 Korean Series to the Samsung Lions; in Game 3, he walked Yamaico Navarro with two outs in the 9th of a 1-1 game and Han-lee Park hit the winning homer.

The Busan native was moved to the rotation to open 2015 but returned to the bullpen mid-season; he finished the year 11-4, 4.82. He was 3rd on the team in wins after Andy Van Hekken and Ryan Feierabend. After surgery, he missed the 2016 KBO season. Returning in 2017, he was 5-6 with five saves and a 4.47 ERA. He was a regular in the rotation in 2018, posting a 11-7, 4.79 record. He tied for 10th in the league in wins with six others, at least five of whom would spend time in the majors during their careers.

The team became the Kiwoom Heroes in 2019 and Han returned to the bullpen, going 7-5 with a 3.41 ERA in 61 games. The Heroes dropped the 2019 Korean Series to the Doosan Bears.
