Biographical Information[edit]

Hyun-bin Moon has played in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korean national team.

Moon represented South Korea in the 2022 U-18 Baseball World Cup as their captain, hitting .148/.324/.259 and fielding .974 at 2B; he had 7 walks in 9 games, tying for third in the event in that department. [1] He was selected by the Hanwha Eagles in the second round of the 2023 KBO draft, and he hit .266/.324/.362 with 5 homers in 137 games in his rookie year. He was the seventh rookie straight from high school to collect 100 hits, and he was the first Eagles player to accomplish it.[2] He also represented South Korea in the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship. He was 1-for-4, with a infield single against Brodie Cooper-Vassalakis of Australia, then he went 0-for-4 against Japan. Moon was 0-for-1 against Chinese Taipei, and he was 1-for-2 with a single against Tatsuya Imai in the Gold Medal game versus Japan. South Korea lost due to Makoto Kadowaki's walk-off single. [3]

When rookie Young-mook Hwang joined the team in 2024, Moon lost his starting spot, and he hit .277/.340/.412 in 103 games as the backup second baseman to Hwang.
