Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Hunter Brown played in the minor leagues from 2002 to 2006. Though he spent two full years at Triple A and was chosen to play in the Arizona Fall League, he never reached the major leagues.

He was drafted three times. Initially, the San Diego Padres chose him in the 38th round of the 2000 amateur draft, three picks ahead of pitcher Tom Gorzelanny, though he opted not to sign. He was next drafted by the Padres in the 31st round of the 2001 amateur draft, three picks after pitcher Humberto Sanchez, but again he did not sign. He did sign after the Seattle Mariners took him in the 22nd round of the 2002 amateur draft, in the same round as catcher Taylor Teagarden.

After an inauspicious start in 2002, Brown hit 15 home runs with 68 RBI, 34 doubles and 84 runs scored for the Inland Empire 66ers in 2003. He was selected to play for the AFL's Peoria Javelinas in the offseason. With the San Antonio Missions in 2004, Brown batted .286/.379/.435 with 13 home runs, 52 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 124 games. He reached Triple A in 2005, batting .291/.366/.448 with 30 doubles in 100 games for the Tacoma Rainiers. Back with Tacoma in 2006, his final season, he hit .262/.357/.405 with 12 stolen bases in 107 games.

Overall, he batted .265/.363/.425 with 49 home runs, 247 RBI and 53 stolen bases in 516 games.
