Biographical Information[edit]
Hung-Liang Chuang pitched for the Taiwanese national team, and in the CPBL.
Chuang represented Taiwan in the 2000 Haarlem Baseball Week, 2001 Asian Championship, 2002 World University Championship, 2002 Intercontinental Cup, 2003 Baseball World Cup and 2004 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. He shut out Indonesia in the Asian Championship and was 0-1 with a 2.84 ERA in the World University Championship. In the Intercontinental Cup, he allowed three runs in 5 1/3 IP of relief after relieving Chao-Hao Tseng in Taiwan's loss to Venezuela. In the World Cup, he was 0-2 with a 6.35 ERA, dropping decisions to William Juárez of Nicaragua and Itsuro Tanimura of Japan. He recorded a 3.27 ERA in 11 innings in the Haarlemse Honkbalweek. The Brother Elephants drafted Chuang in the first round of the 2003 CPBL draft. Chuang was 2-2 with a 2.84 ERA in his rookie year (2005), but his ERA rose to 7.36 in 2006. The Brothers released Chuang after the 2006 season, and the CPBL banned Chuang because of the gambling scandal in 2009.
