Biographical Information[edit]

Hsieh-Chin Chang played in the CPBL for 6 years.

Chang was drafted by the Sinon Bulls in the first round of the 1994 CPBL Draft, and he hit .216/.247/.243 in 50 games in his rookie year. He crushed his first career dinger on October 16, 1996, and he was the second player whose first homer was a grand slam in CPBL history (following Lin-Lien Wu). Chang ended up hitting .177/.188/.291 in 1996, then he improved to .255/.263/.367 in 1997. He struggled again in 1998 as his batting line was .211/.230/.238, and he was 0-for-1 in the 1998 Taiwan Series and the Bulls were beaten by the Wei Chuan Dragons in 7 games. Chang bounced back in 1999, hitting .242/.264/.295 and attended the 1999 CPBL All-Star Game; he was 0-for-2. Chang then jumped to the Brother Elephants, but he only hit .173/.209/.233 in 2000. The Brothers released him, and his professional career ended. He started to coach the Tung Shih High School in 2015.

Overall, Chang hit .221/.241/.283 with 232 hits and 41 doubles in 6 seasons in the CPBL.
