Biographical Information[edit]

Although Henry Myers played parts of three seasons in the big leagues, most of his appearances were with the Baltimore Orioles in 1882, for whom he was player-manager. Henry played shortstop for the team and also pitched a few games.

Myers was born in Philadelphia, PA and was playing minor league ball there as early as 1877. Prior to 1882, he had previously played for a minor league Baltimore team in 1880.

He died at age 36 in his hometown of Philadelphia in 1895 from typhoid fever.

He is not to be confused with another player with a similar name, Henry Meyer, also from Philadelphia. He is also not to be confused with Hi Myers, whose real first name was Henry.
