Biographical Information[edit]
Hee-soo Park has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization. He played in the 2001 Asian Junior Championship. Park debuted with the SK Wyverns in 2006, allowing seven hits and two runs in 2 1/3 IP. He did not appear in the next three seasons. He had a 4.58 ERA in 14 outings for SK in 2010. Pitching for the South Korean national team in the 2010 Intercontinental Cup, he allowed two runs in 6 1/3 IP and fanned six in his first three outings. He then started the 5th-6th place game against rival Japan. Park struck out nine in five shutout innings to lead Shoma Sato, 1-0. In the 6th, though, he allowed singles to Yuhei Nakamura, Itaru Hashimoto and Takahiro Iwamoto to produce two runs, then was relieved by Jung-hyuk Im. Park took the loss in a tough 2-1 defeat.
In 2011, Park took his game to another level. After 29 games for the Wyverns, he was 3-1 with a save, 2.22 ERA, .169 opponent average and 61 K in 52 2/3 IP.
