Biographical Information

Harry Schriver pitched 26 games for the Brooklyn Robins in 1922 and 1923. He came to the Robins after three seasons with the Saginaw Aces.

Harry was born in West Virginia, went to college in that state (in 1917), and eventually died there. He spent at least two seasons with the minor league Providence Grays before coming to Saginaw, where he went 18-6, 13-18 and 15-7 in his three years with the Aces.

With the Robins, he started slightly more than half his appearances, and his ERA in 1922 was an excellent 2.99 although his WHIP was not as impressive. His ERA looked much better than that of team stars Burleigh Grimes and Dazzy Vance.

He had the nickname "Pop", presumably in remembrance of the earlier player Pop Schriver.
