Biographical Information[edit]
Hans de Bie was a Dutch journalist.
De Bie wrote for De Telegraaf from 1960-1963 and then spent 32 years as editor of NOS TV Journaal. He was editor-in-chief of HonkbalBaseball, the first independent Dutch baseball magazine, from 1967-1969. He was part of the organizing committee of the Haarlem Baseball Week from 1969-1984 and later was an advisor for the event. He was on the organizing committee for the 1973 European Championship, 1977 European Championship, 1981 European Championship and 1985 European Championship. He was the first treasurer of the Dutch Baseball Hall of Fame, in 1983, remaining in that role through 1987. He was then vice chairman from 1988-2001. He was involved in local politics as local secretary for the party VVD.
