Biographical Information[edit]

Héctor Mora made his pro debut at age 18, hitting .250/.271/.294 for the 2020-2021 Venados de Mazatlán and fielding .964 as their primary shortstop. The next year, he hit .251/.297/.307 for his hometown El Águila de Veracruz, starting at short next to two former major leaguers, Alexi Amarista at 2B and Héctor Gómez at 3B. He slipped to .214/.302/.268 in the winter, then improved to .279/.302/.350 his second summer. Moving to the Yaquis de Obregón, he had a tough winter in 2022-2023 (7 for 51, 2 BB, 19 K, 3 2B, 1 R in 23 G).

The youngest member of the Mexican national team in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games (3 years younger than the next, Randy Romero), he did not get into a game (Jasson Atondo was used at short) but got a Gold Medal, the first ever for a Mexican national baseball team. [1]
