Biographical Information[edit]

Guilherme Domingues was a first-year medical student when he was picked to pitch for the Brazilian national team in the 2016 South American Championship. He debuted against Chile, closing out a 21-8 rout with a scoreless 8th after relieving Vitor Souza. He allowed one hit and no walks or runs and struck out one. In his other outing, he relieved Ricardo Kirihara with a 15-0 lead over Peru but allowed two hits, a walk and three runs in one inning. That put him with the highest ERA on Brazil's Gold Medal-winning team, at 13.50; Gabriel Clovier was next at 7.36.

In the 2018 South American Championship, he again got to play for Brazil. This time, he was used solely as an outfielder, backing up Alex Yun in left. He came in in blowouts, going 4 for 6 with a run, two RBI and a double.
