Biographical Information[edit]

Greg Pirkl beat up AAA pitching in 1993, hitting .308 with 21 home runs in 114 games with the Calgary Cannons of the Pacific Coast League. It was the second time he had slugged over .500, reaching a slugging percentage of .552 during half a season in Single A ball with the San Bernardino Spirit of the California League.

In the majors he also showed power, hitting 8 home runs in 116 at-bats.

He became a pitcher in 1998 and 1999, pitching in 46 minor league games with an ERA of 3.50 and 9 saves.

He also played for the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in Japan.
