Biographical Information[edit]
The older brother of Charlie Haeger, Greg Haeger was picked in the 21st round of the 1990 amateur draft by the Detroit Tigers. He hit .250/~.357/.250 as the US's 4th outfielder in the 1987 Junior World Championship. A 1B-P in college, he was assigned to the 1990 Bristol Tigers and hit .158/~.238/.158, while going 0-2 with a 5.15 ERA and three saves in 24 games on the mound. The next year, Greg went 4-10, 4.14 for the Fayetteville Generals. In 1992, Haeger wrapped up his career with the Generals (4-2, 3.97, 2 Sv) and the Lakeland Tigers (1-2, 5.98). In his last year, he struck out 66 in 72 innings, but also walked 54 and allowed 71 hits.
He was the head coach for Madonna University in Livonia, MI from 1997 to 2016. He resigned to work for Total Sports in Wixom.
