Gregory Mahlon Cochran


Pitcher Greg Cochran, brother in-law of Floyd Bannister, was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 4th round of the 1971 amateur draft. Electing to go to college, he was then drafted in the 2nd round of the 1975 amateur draft by the Oakland A's. In February 1979 he was sold to the New York Yankees for a reported $100,000. Cochran was 12-7 for the Columbus Clippers in 1980 and stayed in AAA through 1982, but never made the majors.
