Biographical Information[edit]

Graham Koonce appeared briefly in the majors with the Oakland Athletics in 2003 after hitting 34 home runs in the Pacific Coast League, where he was named MVP.

His minor league career stretched from 1994 to 2007, with 198 home runs. In 2007, he made his final stops with the Richmond Braves and the Omaha Royals.

Although very successful as a professional ballplayer, he had to wait until the 60th round in the 1993 amateur draft before he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers. He played three years at the Single A level in their minor league organization, and then played independent ball for a couple of years. He was then in the minor league organization of the San Diego Padres, and didn't get to Double A ball until the year 2001. In 2002 he was a Texas League All-Star.
