Biographical Information[edit]

Goldie Holt was a minor league 2B/3B/OF who collected 1929 hits in 2011 games between 1924-1947.

Holt coached for the Kansas City Blues in 1944 and 1946. He was also an interim manager for the Blues in 1946. Holt was a Pittsburgh Pirates coach from 1948 to 1950. In 1951, he started a three-year stint as a scout for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was a Chicago Cubs coach from 1961 to 1965. Finally, he returned to scouting for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1969-1973.

He taught Charlie Hough how to throw the knuckleball.
