Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Glenn Davis played in the minor leagues from 1997 to 2004. He was the 25th overall pick in the 1997 amateur draft, taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers between pitcher Dan Reichert and infielder Michael Cuddyer. The signing scout was Carl Loewenstine.

Originally drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 18th round of the 1994 amateur draft, Davis opted not to sign and attended Vanderbilt instead. After three years there, he was drafted again and began his pro career. In his second campaign, 1998, he hit 26 home runs, had 78 RBI and stole 15 bases in 122 games between the Vero Beach Dodgers and San Antonio Missions. With the Missions the next year, he had 10 home runs and 33 doubles. After struggling in 2000, Davis had 20 home runs, 89 RBI and 14 steals for the Jacksonville Suns in 2001. He played in the Montreal Expos and New York Yankees systems in 2002 and 2003 before joining the independent ranks in 2004. After hitting 18 home runs with 56 RBI in 89 games between the Joliet Jackhammers and Sioux Falls Canaries that year, his career was over.

Overall, Davis hit .239/.337/.420 with 90 home runs and 375 RBI.
