Biographical Information

Gilberto Hernández was a corner outfielder for the Peruvian national team in the 2013 Bolivarian Games and was one of their top hitters. He went 5 for 15 with a walk, hit-by-pitch, run, triple and two RBI. He led Peru in average, OBP (.012 over Luis Barrientos), slugging (.012 over Kenny Rodriguez), total bases (one over Seiko Hayashida), hits (tied with Hayashida) and triples (tied with Makoto Chinen; no Peruvian player homered). He tied for second in RBI, four behind Jorge Pastor. He fielded .900. He had one of Peru's two hits against Venezuela; Susumu Yoza had the other.
