Biographical Information[edit]
Makoto Chinen began his baseball career with Peru's Kiuyo club and then went to Japan for high school to develop his game. He was a catcher for the Peruvian national team in the 2013 Bolivarian Games, going 1 for 9 with a walk, triple, two runs and two RBI. He fielded .962 with two passed balls and four steals allowed in four tries. His triple tied Gilberto Hernandez for the team's longest hit and his two RBI tied him for second behind Jorge Pastor.
