Geoff Loomis has been a college coach.

Loomis hit .388 with 19 doubles and 11 home runs as a college junior. He led the Pacific-10 Conference in average, beating out Jeffrey Hammonds, Jon Zuber, Mike Kinkade, Aaron Boone and other future big leaguers. He was named the Pac-10 northern division Player of the Year. The Oakland Athletics took him in the 31st round of the 1992 amateur draft.

Geoff spent 1992-1993 with the Southern Oregon A's. He hit .254/.337/.360 the first year, playing regularly at both 2B and 3B. The next year, he put up slightly worse numbers (.247/.316/.349) while struggling defensively at 3B (.859 fielding percentage in 27 G). He fielded .947 in 26 games at 2B and .972 in 4 games at 1B.

Going back to school, Loomis finished his degree then earned a Master's in teaching. He taught at David Douglas High School and was assistant coach at George Fox University (1996-2000). He guided the Aloha Knights to the 2004 National Baseball Congress World Series title. In 2003, he became head coach of Pacific Lutheran University, going 325-197-2. He led the team to the Northwest Conference title in 2007, the first PLU championship of any kind in 53 years. He set the school record for wins that year by going 35-9. He led them to another title.

Loomis returned to his alma mater as head coach in 2016.
