Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Gabriel Ynoa began his professional career in 2010 at the age of 17. The New York Mets signed him on November 19, 2009.

With the DSL Mets 2 in 2010, he went 5-3 with a 1.99 ERA in 14 games (12 starts), walking only eight batters in 72 1/3 innings. In 2011, he was 2-3 with a 3.21 ERA in 12 games (seven starts) between the Kingsport Mets and GCL Mets, allowing only four BBs in 56 frames. With the Brooklyn Cyclones in 2012, Ynoa went 5-2 with a 2.23 ERA in 13 starts (only 10 walks in 76 2/3 innings) and in 2013, he was 15-4 with a 2.72 ERA in 22 starts for the Savannah Sand Gnats. He walked only 16 batters. Topps named him the South Atlantic League Player of the Year and he was also the league's Most Outstanding Pitcher. In 2014, he was 11-4 with a 4.07 ERA in 25 IP, walking 25 batters in 148 frames.

Gabriel was a a winner in his debut with the Mets on August 13, 2016, pitching a perfect inning in relief in a 3-2, 11-inning win over the San Diego Padres.
