Biographical Information[edit]

After retiring as a player, catcher Fred Kendall spent four seasons as a minor league manager in the Chicago White Sox system. He was manager Buddy Bell's bullpen coach with the Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, and Kansas City Royals. From 2003 to 2005, Kendall was the Rockies' minor league catching coordinator. On October 23, 2007, it was announced that he was not being retained by the Royals for 2008, following Bell's departure as manager.

He is the father of catcher Jason Kendall.
