Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Fred Carter, brother of All-Star Joe Carter, was drafted in the January phase of the 1984 amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round (22nd overall). He never played in the Reds system, however.
In his five minor league seasons, he played in the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians chains, hit .257/.324/.375 while topping out at the A level. He also played part of 1988 in the California League for the Reno Silver Sox.
