Biographical Information[edit]

Frank Jude took away a regular outfield job on the team from Fred Odwell on the Cincinnati Reds in 1906 (they were traded for each other), but lost it to him in 1907. He had previously been at Toledo.

Sporting Life of January 5, 1907, called him an "Ojibwa Redskin". The July 21, 1906 issue of the same publication said he was welcomed to the majors with a chorus of war whoops, and said he began his major league career "with a smash". He played in the minors and independent ball for nearly two decades after his time in the majors.

He had gone to the Carlisle Indian School. The SABR biography of Jude says that he went into the Navy in 1918, and after baseball worked as a truck driver and for a paper company.
