Francisco Madero pitched in the minor leagues and for the Mexico national team.
Madero began his professional career with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization in the Dominican Summer League in 1997. After two years in the Dominican, he was 2-6 with a 5.09 ERA for the 1999 Vero Beach Dodgers and 3-2 with a 5.70 ERA for the San Bernardino Stampede. He left the Dodgers system and went to the Mexican League in 2000, and he was 4-6 with a 4.55 ERA for the Langosteros de Cancun while allowing 8 runs in 4 innings for the Diablos Rojos del Mexico. Madero went 4-6 again with a 4.71 ERA for the Langosteros in 2001, and he wad 5-7 with a 5.27 ERA for the Guerreros de Oaxaca in 2002. He pitched 18 games with 2 saves and a 5.85 ERA for the Diablos in 2003, and he represented Mexico in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, giving up four runs in 3 1/3 IP.
The Mazatlan native was 8-7 with a 7.55 ERA for the Vaqueros Laguna in 2004, and he went 5-3 with a 5.70 ERA in 2005 after returning to the Guerreros. Madero was 1-2 with a 6.13 ERA in 2006, and he had a 7-8 record with a 5.58 ERA in 2007. He recorded a 4.76 ERA in 13 games for the Mayos de Navojoa in the winter. Madero struggled again in 2008 as his ERA was 6.45 in 25 relief outings, then he went 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA for the Mayos in the winter. His ERA rose to 7.69 with a 3-5 record for the Vaqueros in 2009, then he went 2-9 with a 5.07 ERA for the Olmecas de Tabasco in 2010. Madero's ERA was 5.50 in 8 games with the Olmecas in 2011, and he also pitched 15 games with a 4-4 record and a 4.29 ERA for the Petroleros de Minatitlan. He was 4-10 with a 6.57 ERA for the Petroleros in 2012. Madero went 2-1 with a 8.83 ERA for the Pericos de Puebla in 2013, and his professional career ended.
