Evgen Blizniuk was on the Ukrainian national team in the 2005 European Championship. Hitting leadoff in their opener, he was 1-for-5 off Greece's James Kavourias. He hit .103/.212/.172 for them, fielding .905 in the outfield and .900 at catcher. His two doubles tied Oleksandr Mamontov for the team lead, his three runs tied Artem Palamarchuk for the team lead and his four walks tied Mykola Taran and Palamarchuk for the most on the squad.
