Biographical Information[edit]
José Corrales has pitched for the Guatemalan national team.
Corrales allowed seven hits, three walks and three runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 IP in his lone start of the 2013 Bolivarian Games, losing to Peru and former minor leaguer Kenny Rodriguez. He relieved Gustavo Rehwoldt with a 2-1 deficit against Ecuador in the Bronze Medal game, retiring all seven batters he faced (four by strikeout) but Guatemala failed to score again and lost the contest.
In the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, he struggled (1 2/3 IP, 5 H, 2 BB, HB, WP, BK, 4 R, 2 K). Only José Ramazzini had a higher ERA for Guatemala. He pitched twice when Guatemala won Bronze in the 2017 Central American Games. Relieving Juan Estrada with one out in the 6th of a 13-10 win over Costa Rica, he walked both batters he faced before giving way to Juan Valdez. In his other game, a 12-2 loss to Silver Medal winner Panama, he relieved Juan Berger in the 4th and allowed two walks, no hits and three runs in 1 1/3 IP before Estrada relieved.
