Biographical Information[edit]

After hitting .322 with 12 homers in his final season at the University of Evansville, first baseman Erik Lis was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the ninth round of the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Billy Milos and made his pro debut that summer with the Elizabethton Twins. The following year, he hit .326 with 16 home runs for the Beloit Snappers and was named a Midwest League All-Star. He advanced through the Twins chain, reaching the AAA level with the Rochester Red Wings in 2010. However, he struggled at that level, hitting just .205 in 51 games with Rochester.

Lis was signed by the Florida Marlins organization prior to the 2011 season. His struggles continued with the Jacksonville Suns, for whom he hit .180 in 26 games before being released.
