Biographical Information[edit]
Erik Johnson was the second future major leaguer to lose the Little League World Series finale in four years. After Vance Lovelace lost the 1975 finale, Erik started for Danville, CA in the 1978 Little League World Series but walked 10 and allowed six runs in 5 1/3 IP in taking the loss; he was 0 for 1 with the lone US run against Taiwan.
He played for Team USA in the 1985 Intercontinental Cup, joining Jeff King and Matt Williams in the infield; the US still managed to go just 2-5 in the event.
