Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Erik Goeddel was selected by the New York Mets in the 24th round of the 2010 amateur draft and made his pro debut that summer with the GCL Mets. His brother, Tyler Goeddel, was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round of the 2011 amateur draft.
On May 18, 2018, Erik was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Dodgers from the Seattle Mariners after making 5 appearances for Seattle earlier in the season. It was a bit of a family reunion, as a day earlier, the Dodgers had signed his brother Tyler as a free agent. He made his debut for the Dodgers on May 19th, picking up a win in relief against the Washington Nationals in the second game of a doubleheader. It was his only decision in 26 games for the Dodgers, and his brother only played for their minor league affiliates.
