Biographical Information[edit]
Elmer Cleveland played parts of three seasons in three different big leagues. He played well in the Union Association in 1884, decently in the National League in 1888 and briefly in the American Association in 1891. Elmer exclusively played third base and hit .255 in 80 games. Articles after his playing days noted that he played during the presidency of Grover Cleveland, who had the same last name.
Elmer also played for many years outside of the majors, perhaps most notably hitting .327 for the 1889 Omaha Omahogs, which led the team.
