Biographical Information[edit]

Elián Sánchez has played for the Argentinian national team.

He hit .286/.375/.333 with six runs and four steals in six games in the 2012 U-15 Baseball World Cup, fielding .875. He tied for 8th in swipes. [1] In the 2016 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he was at .300/.348/.450, fielding .846 at the hot corner. [2] He was with Argentina for the 2022 South American Championship, his debut for the senior national team. He started at third against Peru but struck out twice against Juan Casas before being replaced by Pedro Figueras. He did far better in his next game, starting at third versus Bolivia. He doubled off Ronald Quiroga in the second, singled off Quiroga in the third to drive in Figueras and scored later, then drew a walk from Camilo Ramos his last time up and again scored (the game ended early due to the mercy rule).
