Biographical Information[edit]

Edwar Ramirez was signed by scout Leo Perez for the Anaheim Angels in 2001 and made his pro debut the next summer. He pitched in the Angels' chain in 2002-2003, but was released in spring training 2004.

Ramirez pitched in independent leagues in 2005-2006, before New York Yankees' pro scouting assistant John Coppolella gave a tip to scout Mark Batchko about Ramirez. Batchko drove six hours to see him pitch and asked Edinburg Coyotes manager Vince Moore to use Ramirez. Based on one look, he was signed by the Yankees and sent to the Class A Tampa Yankees.

Ramirez was pitching coach for the DSL Yankees 2 in 2021 and DSL Yankees in 2022-2023.
