Biographical Information[edit]
Eduardo Mirabel was a pitcher on the Dominican national team that played in the 1978 Central American and Caribbean Games. He was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates and used as an outfielder for the 1979 Salem Pirates. He struggled on defense at the position (.800 FLD%, 9 E in 28 G) while hitting .231/.303/.356. His 7 triples easily led the team. He tied Noel Roman and Jack Sauer for 4th in the Carolina League in three-baggers; in the Pirates chain, he was tied for 3rd with Craig Cacek and Rick Lancellotti. It was his only season in the minors.
