Edinboro University of Pennsylvania was known as Edinboro State Normal School, then Edinboro State Teachers College from 1927 to 1960 and Edinboro State College until 1983. The school is a founding member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. In July 2021, the university was officially merged with fellow Western Pennsylvania institutions California University of Pennsylvania and Clarion University of Pennsylvania. On October 14, 2021, the state officially adopted the new name of the combined universities: Pennsylvania Western University.
Guy Conti coached baseball here, as well as basketball and football, in the 1970s until 1983.
