Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Mark Corey dealt from the stretch and windup 81 times over four seasons, allowing a 6.02 ERA with 79 strikeouts in 89 2/3 innings. During the New York Mets malaise of 2002 in which everybody seemed to do whatever they wanted without any repercussions, Corey suffered a seizure while smoking some pot with Tony Tarasco before a game in June. Less than two months later, he was quietly shipped to the Colorado Rockies, later doing his most work for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He is not to be confused with namesake Mark Corey, who was an outfielder around 1980.
