Biographical Information[edit]
Eddy Arteaga has played for the Brazilian national team.
Arteaga hit .278/.418/.463 for Campbellsville in 2020, .315/.389/.441 in 2021 and .246/.349/.389 in 2022. He played for Brazil in the 2022 South American Championship, backing up Márcio Kikuchi at catcher for the champs. In his debut, he replaced Kikuchi during a rout of Bolivia. His first time up, he was plunked by Luis Rico. His first hit for Brazil was a double off Peru's Edgar Paredes to score Iago Januario. For the tourney, he was two-for-six with two walks, a time plunked, a double, two runs and two RBI while handling 19 chances error-free behind the dish. [1] He was back with Brazil for the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, but did not get into a game as Daniel Molinari and Kikuchi did all the catching. [2]
