Biographical Information[edit]
Daniel Martins-Molinari has played in the independent leagues and for the Brazilian national team.
He played water polo in addition to baseball in high school. [1] As a college sophomore, he batted .290. [2] He batted .326/.393/.421 as a junior then transferred to Georgia Southwestern and produced at a .254/.390/.313 clip as a senior. Turning pro, he hit .405/.524/.595 for the Trinidad Triggers in the high-octane Pecos League.
With his mother living in Brazil, he contacted Brazilian team manager André Rienzo, who added him to the roster for the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier. [3] He went 0 for 1 with a run with a passed ball that led in the losing run against the Dominican Republic. [4] In 2019, he hit .263/.434/.450 for the Sonoma Stompers and threw out only 7% who tried to steal. In 2020, he was 4 for 12 with 4 walks and a double for the Road Warrior Black Sox.
In 2021, he hit .329/.421/.555 for the Idaho Falls Chukars with 40 runs and 39 RBI in 44 games. He began 2022 still in the indies.
