Eddie Brooks was a second baseman in the dying years of the Negro Leagues.

Brooks debuted with the 1949 Houston Eagles and hit .235 for them in 1950. He played for the New Orleans Eagles in '51 then spent 1952-1955 with the Birmingham Black Barons. With Birmingham, he was a teammate of Charley Pride's and would criticize Pride's singing style on the team bus - Pride later became a country music star.

Brooks was the East's #3 batter and second baseman in the 1952 East-West Game. He went 1-4 in a 7-3 loss to the West. In the 1953 East-West Game, he pinch-hit for Ray Neil in the 5th and stayed in at second base. He was 0 for 1 in a 5-1 loss.
