Biographical Information[edit]
Dusty Bergman pitched one game for the Anaheim Angels in 2004, allowing 3 runs to the Milwaukee Brewers in an interleague game on June 9. Drafted in 1999, he pitched in the Angels organization from 1999 through part of 2005. After that, he spent time in the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees organizations. In 2006, he appeared in 47 games in Triple A ball, all in relief. From 2007-2008, he was in the independent leagues. He came to Germany's Bundesliga in 2009 to play for the Heidenheim Heideköpfe and also served as the team's pitching coach. This made him the second ex-major leaguer in the Bundesliga, following Mike Hartley by one year. Bergman debuted in Germany on Opening Day, holding the Haar Disciples to a hit, 3 walks and a run in 5 innings in a win over Austrian Gregor Klinc. He also pitched in Germany in 2010.
