Biographical Information[edit]

Andrew Toussaint was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 10th round of the 2000 amateur draft but instead went to college at Cal Poly for two years. He then transferred to Southern University. As a senior he led the Southwestern Athletic Conference with 14 home runs and his 54 RBI were one behind leader B.J. Lange. He hit .384 and made the SWAC All-Conference Team at third base.

Toussaint was selected by the Anaheim Angels in the thirteenth round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Chad MacDonald and made his pro debut with the Provo Angels, where he batted .289/.411/.557 and led the club with 12 homers. He was named to the Pioneer League All-Star team at DH. In 2005, Toussaint played with the Cedar Rapids Kernels and posted a .261/.345/.501 line with 21 homers and 125 strikeouts. He was second in the Midwest League in long balls, three behind Ryan Harvey. He was also converted to the outfield that year. With the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in 2006, he batted .242/.325/.411 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI. He hit .272/.337/.421 with 9 home runs and 47 RBI in 114 games for Rancho Cucamonga in 2007 and in 2008, he hit .296/.330/.478 with 17 home runs and 71 RBI in 117 games between Rancho Cucamonga and the Arkansas Travelers.

Overall, he batted .271/.343/.465 with 71 home runs and 280 RBI in 503 games over 5 seasons.

He later became a scout for the New York Mets, signing Dominic Smith.
