Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Doug Robbins was a member of the United States National Baseball Team at the 1988 Olympics and 1988 Baseball World Cup. In the latter event, he hit .391/.533/.522 with 13 runs and 8 RBI in 9 games, starting ahead of Scott Servais. Pedro Rodriguez was named as the All-Star catcher ahead of Robbins. He was also signed by the Baltimore Orioles and scout Ed Sprague Sr. as a tenth round pick in the June 1988 amateur draft. He never made it to the major leagues.
