Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Doug Gredvig played in the minor and independent leagues from 2000 to 2006. He was taken in the 5th round of the 2000 amateur draft by the Baltimore Orioles, a few picks after pitcher Bobby Jenks and a few picks ahead of pitcher Mike Smith. He was signed by scout Ed Sprague. He broke out with the Frederick Keys in 2001, hitting 20 home runs with 62 RBI in 129 games. He never again reached such numbers, managing 14 home runs the next year (with 80 RBI) and 2 dingers in 2003.

Overall, he batted .266/.345/.415 with 61 home runs and 301 RBI in 577 games over 6 seasons in the affiliated minors. With the independent Reno Silver Sox in 2006, he hit .299/.403/.460 with 10 homers and 49 RBI in 75 games.
