Doo-jo Kwon played in the KBO for 6 years.
Kwon joined the Lotte Giants when the league was founded in 1982, and he hit .223/.329/.287 as their starting shortstop. He played all 80 games with a league-leading 15 sacrifice bunts, and he attended the 1982 KBO All-Star Game. Kwon struggled again in 1983 as his batting line was .168/.209/.218, and the Giants traded him with Jung-hu Park, Gyeong-ha Woo and Jeong-soo Kim to the Sammi Superstars for Ho-kyun Lim. Kwon improved to .267/.337/.314 in 1984, then he hit .237/.319/.291 in 110 games in 1985. His batting line fell to .162/.237/.188 with a league-leading 25 bunts, and that was the lowest batting average in KBO history for a qualified batter. Kwon recorded a .237/.307/.273 batting line in 1987, then he announced his retirement.
The Pohang native was the fielding coach for the Taepyungyang Dolphins in 1988, for the OB Bears in 1989, for the Lotte Giants from 1990 to 1996 and for the Hanwha Eagles from 1997 to 1998. He returned to the Giants as bench coach from 1999 to 2001, and he managed the minor league team of the LG Twins in 2002. Kwon joined the SK Wyverns as their fielding coach in 2005, and he coached Bukyeong High School from 2007 to 2011. The Giants named him their bench coach in 2012 and 2014, and he also managed their minor league team in 2013. He then became their scout from 2014 to 2019, and he coached Dongwon Institute of Science And Technology in 2020.
Overall, Kwon hit .220/.297/.266 with 352 hits in 6 seasons in the KBO.
