Biographical Information[edit]
Dong-seok Lee pitched in the KBO for 7 years.
Lee was drafted by the Binggrae Eagles in the first round of the 1987 KBO draft, and he was 1-2 with a 6.37 ERA in 1987. He improved to 7-3 with a 3.67 ERA in 1988, and he completed a no-hitter against the Haitai Tigers on April 2. That was the first no-hit, no-walk game in KBO history; only two errors prevented a perfect game. Lee pitched 6 innings with only a solo shot allowed to Soon-chul Lee in the 1988 Korean Series Game 1, but Dong-yol Son beat him with 8 shutout innings. Lee then pitched 3 1/3 shutout innings in Game 6, but the Haitai Tigers still beat the Eagles. He slumped to 2-4 with a 6.39 ERA in 1989, then his ERA was 2.91 in 19 games in 1990. The Eagles traded him to the Ssangbangwool Raiders for cash after he had a 3.36 ERA with 4 saves in 20 games in 1991, but he pitched 23 games with a 8.22 ERA in 1992. Lee only got 7 appearances in 1993, then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Lee was 12-16 with a 5.01 ERA and 7 saves, struck out 130 and pitched 343 1/3 innings in 7 seasons in the KBO.
