Biographical Information[edit]
Dimerson Núñez has played in the minors, CPBL, Mexico and Italy and for the Panamanian national team.
Núñez began his professional career with the Kansas City Royals, and he hit .236/.306/.337 in 34 games for their 1988 GCL Royals affiliate, fielding .974 as a backup catcher. His whereabouts from 1989-1994 are unclear. He then hit .245/.273/.321 in 16 games for the Lubbock Crickets in 1995, and the Kaoping Fala of Taiwan signed him. He only hit .241/.241/.241 in 22 games in 1997, then the Fala released him and he joined the Algodoneros de Union Laguna, batting .164/.200/.179 in 19 games. He then recorded a .152/.222/.182 batting line for the Ozark Mountain Ducks.
The Chiriqui native represented his nation in the 2001 Bolivarian Games, winning Gold. He was 0 for 7 with a walk in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, backing up Julio Mosquera and Juan Vega at catcher. He won Silver in the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games. In the 2002 Intercontinental Cup, he batted .267/.313/.467, splitting DH with Sherman Obando. Panama won Bronze but it was stripped from them when four players tested positive for banned substances. He was 1 for 4 with two runs and a RBI in the 2003 Baseball World Cup (again backing up Mosquera). He hit .276/.335/.347 for Reggio Emilia in the 2003 Serie A1. He appeared with the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings in 2006, and he hit .302/.339/.415 in 14 games. Nunez announced his retirement in 2014.
