Biographical Information

Dick Stello was an umpire in the Georgia-Florida League (1963), Texas League (1964-1965), and International League (1966-1968). He was then a National League umpire from September, 1968 to 1987. He umpired the 1975 and 1981 World Series.

Stello was also famous for being married to soft-core porn star Chesty Morgan.

Stello was killed in a freak auto accident in November 1987. According to local newspaper reports, he was standing between two parked cars on a highway north of Lakeland when the second car was struck at high speed by a third car. Stello died instantly as he was crushed between the two cars.
